RE: Facebook demands £50,000 media investment from brands for Deals tool
£50k over how long. A year? A month? This is an odd decision and another reason I wish Foursquare all the best.
RE: Andrew Walmsley on Digital: Mobile's game-changer
Does all action need to be rewarded with something that has monetary value? I'm not too sure. There are 7 million people using Foursquare, and not all of them need a discount for checking in. Games are fun. So, one of their challenges is keeping/making it fun rather than 'paying out' somehow. Clay Shirky talks a lot about intrinsic and extrinsic rewards in terms of activity and behaviour change. I think a lot of his principles apply here. RE: Foursquare interest rockets after launch of Facebook Places
I have been using Foursquare for a while now and I think they need to work faster on advertiser integrations and coming up with added value solutions for people using it. If FB over takes it or kills it, they will only have themselves to blame.
