RE: Steve Atkinson leaves Clear Channel
It looks to me very much like its open season on anyone named Atkinson at Clear Channel . Last month Tolpuddle Rob gets abruptly transported to an interim role with a JV in Oz barely bigger than Clear Channel's Isle of Wight business and now we're supposed to believe the other one decides to dip out of his own volition mid way through paternity leave. Sandwiched between these the Head of Emerging Platforms-all the shiny digital things that represent the future -decides to leave the World's biggest outdoor company to join a start up no one's ever heard of. I don't believe any of it and hope for the rest of the long suffering staff that the rocket scientist at the helm has a cunning plan. Or failing that someone who can bluff enough about National Hunt Racing to chaperone one of the buying Sultans to every meeting.Or you'll find one half of your business drying up faster than something reknown for drying up very quickly.

This is a negative review of this article as there is no supporting evidence for such a controversial claim. I expect readership of this article and subscriptions to Marketing magazine to rocket as a result.

RE: Now lands £25m Waitrose
I'd like to see him: Fired out of a cannon, from whence he shoots like a baldy rocket through a thin batter held out like bubbles-soap with a massive hula-hoop. The batter wouldn't get in his eye though because of his w*nker glasses - no, instead he'd be glistened with an all-over-film of thin pancake-like batter. And as the arc of his magnificent launch brought him back towards earth, all battered and slimey, a giant plate full of breadcrumbs would be raised to an accomodating angle so that he could glide splendidly down its slope, covering himself fully in a thick coating of fluffy breadcrums \(wholemeal, of course). Still carrying momentum, the lip of the plate would flip him gently in to the air and he would subsequently land with a delicate plop in to a hissing, boiling cauldron of hot oil. Deep fry for 4-5 minutes, so that the breadcrumb outer goes crispy and golden, but not so long that the cook inside becomes dry and chewy. Slap it on a plate with a side of proper chips and some thick mushy-peas and there you have it - w*nker dippers from Waitrose - recipe card available in store or on the website at www.
RE: Rocket propels Radioplayer's online campaign
In response to Mark Gregory's comment, Bauer and UTV stations will be included from next week, taking the total number of stations up to c. 220, including some independents - with more to follow in the coming months. Based on this, and with an estimated monthly audience of around 3 million from launch, I doubt if any other player could make a better claim to be UK Radioplayer.
RE: Rocket propels Radioplayer's online campaign
Have had a good look at this on-line, and unless I'm mistaken, this is actually the BBC/GMG/Global/Absolute Radio Player rather than THE UK Radio Player as it's name somewhat boldly suggests. Yet MORE confusion in the already extremely confused digital marketplace of Middle England will ensue no doubt. Shame.
Rocket propels Radioplayer's online campaign
Today's launch of the Radioplayer centres on the UK's leading music, lifestyle and social networking sites, including YouTube, MySpace and MSN.
