RE: Carlsberg 'Everest' by Fold7

I still don't really understand why they are going with a two tag-line strategy, but this isn't anywhere near as bad as I expected when the 'calls for a Carlsberg' line was revealed. The line is still more generic than the classic, but at least the strategy is taking it to a more interesting place than your typical beer ad.

RE: Marmite banned in Denmark

Got me thinking of Carlsberg's 2004 'So good, the Danes hate to see it leave" campaign. I'd be happy to swap any day.

RE: FA to announce Budweiser as new sponsor in June

This is an interesting return for beer in UK domestic football after brands like Carling and Carlsberg left it and it will be interesting to see how Budweiser rises to the challenge. The work on 'We do the beer, you do the football' was great so things should be promising. Budwesier obviously has huge awareness and associations of what the brand is about but the issue may be affinity and perhaps the FA Cup is a way of building this. But ultimately we will need to fall in love with both Budweiser and the FA Cup if it is going to work \(no offense Man City & Stoke but it wasn't exactly a dream final).

RE: Carlsberg: Probably a risky rebrand

Rob - we had arguments in the office about that. I was convinced it was 'best lager' in the world but Carlsberg assured us it originally developed the 'best beer' for the UK market, although this was switched to 'best lager' in some markets.

RE: Carlsberg: Probably a risky rebrand

I think you'll find it's 'Probably the best lager in the world' not 'the best beer in the world' Come on BR!!!
